The free entry-level version, already included in every SolidWorks licence. Enough to automate simple model generation and to find out whether this way of working fits.

Rules on
a model.
The base model is loaded into DriveWorksXpress once. After that, the dimensions and features that need to be drivable are selected. These get a fixed value or a formula, for example a length that is always twice the width.
Anyone who then fills in the form gets a new file with the right measurements. The base model stays untouched.
ACTIVATION
Activation in
three steps.

Open DriveWorksXpress.
Found in SolidWorks under Tools > DriveWorksXpress.

Request the activation code.
This is done through a MySolidWorks account.
- 03
Ready to use.
Enter the code and the package is switched on.
There is also a free certification. It takes about three hours to complete.
When Solo becomes necessary.
DriveWorksXpress has its limits. Solo becomes necessary as soon as there is a need for:
- driving material or colour
- a preview before the model is generated
- replacing a part instead of adjusting it
- tables
- exporting to STEP, STL, PDF or DXF
- changes to the drawing itself
