DriveWorks automates the drawing of SolidWorks models. Anyone who fills in the specifications gets a correct model out of it, along with the matching drawing and the documents. To do that, DriveWorks makes a copy of the master model and adjusts it to exactly the right configuration.
WHAT IT DOES
Automating drawings. The rules set out how dimensions, features and properties relate to each other. An engineer fills in the measurements and DriveWorks draws the variant. This is called design automation.
Letting sales configure. The same rules driven from an input form, so the sales team or the customer puts together a variant themselves. Price and quote come straight out of it. This is called CPQ, configure price quote.
In practice it is almost always a bit of both.
What a project needs becomes clear from the analysis.
THREE PACKAGES
Free, and already included in every SolidWorks licence. Enough to automate simple model generation and to find out what it does.
Read more about DriveWorksXpressThe entry-level version of DriveWorks, as an add-in within SolidWorks. Intended to automate drawing work at one workstation, including drawings and documents such as quotes and bills of materials. Suited to one engineer at a time.
Read more about DriveWorks SoloThe most extensive version, built up from modules. Alongside broader design automation options, this adds the sales configurator and integrations with other software.
Read more about DriveWorks ProAll DriveWorks products are SolidWorks Gold Partner products. They are modular, so scaling up can happen later, at the pace the project needs. The licences themselves are sold through a DriveWorks reseller; ConfiCreate does not sell them, but builds the implementation.

That follows from exactly what needs to be automated. A package that is too heavy costs money unnecessarily; one that is too light gets stuck as soon as the project grows.
